In response to a parliamentary question during the Federal National Council session yesterday, the Minister stressed that there is no citizen who applied to a government school and was rejected because of the lack of a seat, stressing that there are plans to develop paths that match the local needs of each emirate.

Members of the Council approved during the session two draft federal laws: the first regarding the abolition of Federal Decree No. 3 of 2013 regarding the establishment and organization of the Office of the Representative of the President of the State, and the second in the matter of the Police College, which included the introduction of a number of amendments to the administrative and academic systems of the college, most notably the transfer of the academic qualification from Bachelor’s degree to Bachelor’s degree, and reduce the duration of study to three and a half years, while the Council did not complete the discussion of a federal bill in the matter of education, due to be returned to the Committee on Education, Culture, Youth, Sports and Information Affairs again, to be reclassified and discussed in the presence of government representatives.

The Council also discussed during the session attended by the Minister of Health and Community Protection, the Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al Owais, the Minister of Education, Hussein bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, in addition to representatives of the Ministries of Presidential and Interior Affairs and the Police College, A number of articles of a federal bill on education, but he decided to return the bill to the Committee on Education, Culture, Youth, Sports and Information Affairs again, for reclassification and discussion in the presence of government representatives.

The list of bills included two projects that were referred as a matter of urgency with the approval of the President of the Council for discussion in the same session: The first is a federal bill on canceling Federal Decree No. 3 of 2013 regarding the organization of the President’s Representative’s Office, which was previously referred to the Committee for Constitutional, Legislative and Appeals appeals, and the second is draft A federal law amending some provisions of Federal Law No. 5 of 1992 regarding the Police College, which was previously referred to the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Council agreed to refer four other bills to the relevant committees.

Addressing administrative aspects

The decision of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, Nasser Muhammad Al Yamahi, stated that the draft law on amending some provisions of Federal Law No. (5) of 1992 regarding the Police College, aims to address the administrative aspects of the college structure and the Board of Directors, so that they are compatible with modern requirements to develop academic aspects And training.

He explained that the academic qualification of the Police College from the BA in Police and Security Sciences was transferred to a Bachelor, and the study period was modified from four years to three and a half years, in the classroom system according to the criteria for academic accreditation, while addressing the situation of police college students currently studying on The modern academic system, who will graduate this year, and address the situation of university graduates who are enrolled in the Police College with the intention of graduating officers, as well as address the financial conditions of the Police College, and based on what was agreed with the Ministry of Finance, and the amendments also included Change the name of the director of the Police College to the leader of the college.
