The Guinean opposition hardened the tone Monday, December 23 by announcing that it will boycott the legislative elections of February 16, and even that it will “prevent” their holding, if certain conditions are not met including a correct and complete census of the electoral body as well as the replacement of the president of the CENI, the electoral commission, among others.

Denouncing an “ electoral masquerade in preparation ”, the entire Guinean opposition has decided not to go to the legislative elections scheduled for February 16 because, she believes, “ the enrollment of voters has been botched ".

" We have decided that we cannot participate and we cannot accept that an election based on this file be organized because it will not respect the will of our people who have the right to choose their deputies ", explains Cellou Dalein Diallo , leader of the opposition.

Weekly demonstration since October

" We are in the process of organizing ourselves, explains Etienne Soropogui, former influential member of the CENI, opinion leader today, so that, as part of these legislative elections, that we do not stop boycotting them but that we are putting everything in place to prevent them from holding together . ”

To participate in its elections, the opposition “ demands ” that “ Mr. Alpha Condé renounce the change of Constitution. The FNDC will continue its struggle. We are all members of the FNDC to oppose this change in the Constitution. To a large extent, this electoral masquerade in preparation is closely linked to this change in the Constitution. Because Mr. Alpha Condé wants to do the masquerade to obtain two-thirds or combine the two ballots, the referendum and the legislative ballot. We will not accept it. "

This possibility of modification of the Constitution makes Guineans take to the streets almost every week since October 14th .
