The family of Samba Diop, a player from the Le Havre training center who died at 18 in 2018, filed a complaint for "manslaughter", the prosecution said on Monday.

"This is not new, but the complaint evokes, before the young man's death, the injection of an anti-inflammatory drug to treat hip tendonitis," the prosecutor told an AFP correspondent. from the Republic of Le Havre, François Gosselin.

Registered on December 16, the complaint "relates to the HAC club and several people from the club and is part of open judicial information in search of the causes of death," said the magistrate.

An expert report is expected in the coming days. "It will be a question of verifying whether responsibilities may be related to the death," said Mr. Gosselin.

The club was not reachable on Monday.
