OL Groupe, the listed holding company controlling Olympique Lyonnais, will increase its stake in the capital of its new partner, the basketball club of ex-champion Tony Parker, Asvel, according to a press release published on Monday.
OL's participation in Asvel, a club historically linked to the city of Villeurbanne (suburb of Lyon), will drop from 25%, its level since the announcement at the end of June of the commitment of cooperation between the two sports entities, at 31.67%.
OL Groupe obtained these additional shares from "other shareholders" of Asvel, unidentified but who one could assume that it is Tony¨Parker himself, recently become the ambassador of the club on the market American.
The transferors will be remunerated in OL Groupe shares held in treasury by the group of Jean-Michel Aulas. They will obtain in exchange for their shares 275,657 OL Groupe shares, which, at the share's closing price on Monday, values the transaction at just over 800,000 euros.
After this transaction, OL Groupe still holds more than 643,000 of its own shares, for a value close to 2 million euros.
