Lyon made a very bad operation losing on Zenit St. Petersburg (2-0), compromising their chances of qualifying for the round of 16 on Wednesday in the Champions League.
The Lyonnais have no destiny in their hands, since this defeat will place them behind the Russians in case of a tie after the 6th day.
They need a boost from Benfica - victory or draw in Leipzig - in the evening (21:00) to hope to play a final, home, on December 10 against the Germans.
OL, deprived of Memphis Depay and Houssem Aouar, was beaten on goals by Artyom Dziouba (42) and Magomed Ozdoyev (84).
