A statement published on the State Department’s website says that it’s necessary “to provide all Bolivians with the opportunity to participate in truly free and fair elections that reflect their will” as soon as possible.
Pompeo also called on "all parties to refrain from any violence, respect the rule of law and respect the rights of all citizens to participate in building the future of Bolivia, regardless of their views."
Evo Morales, who previously resigned from the post of President of Bolivia, commented on the departure of the country's top leadership, as well as the situation in the state.
