Kramfors on its way to get its first female municipal council

- The members went on the nomination committee's proposal and elected Malin Svanholm, says Eva Lygdman, Chairman of the Workers' Municipality in Kramfors.

What makes Malin Svanholm suitable for the assignment?

- She has worked in the party for a long time. Ever since the SSU era, for 28 years, Eva Lygdman says.

Malin Svanholm is a seasoned politician and has several political assignments today. She is a member of the municipal council and the council, is chairman of Media-technology, the Swedish Civil Service Association and a member of the public transport authority.

This week she is 44 years old. But most important of all, Eva Lygdman thinks, is that Malin Svanholm will be the first woman on the municipal council post in Kramfors.

- It feels very good, not least for gender equality, she says.

On Monday, the City Council makes a formal decision on the municipal council post.
