The Chairman of the National Committee for Organ Transplantation, Dr. Ali Al-Obaidli, revealed that the total donation of organs in the country amounted to 20 people of different nationalities, donated 74 members saved lives of more than 30 nationalities.

Al Obaidli explained during the 15th International Organ Donation Conference that the list of donated organs of deceased persons, with the consent of their relatives, included 11 heart, eight lungs, 16 liver, 38 kidneys and pancreas. Under the GCC member exchange agreement.

The Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, announced during the conference, which started its work in Dubai yesterday, and extends to this day, with the participation of about 1000 scientists, experts, doctors and specialists from inside and outside the UAE, the Authority's intention to establish a global center for organ transplantation, pointing out Dubai Health is working on a technical study with one of the most prestigious international think tanks to achieve this goal, so that Dubai can be at the forefront of successful cities in such delicate operations.

The State had realized early on the importance of having a prominent and influential role in the development of medicine, and had therefore harnessed all potentials and capabilities.

He pointed out that the conference comes at a time when the need for transplantation and transplantation, which has become one of the influential processes in people's lives, and the productive forces of societies, which have moved to codify and legislate international health institutions, and specialized medical community.

Al-Qatami said that organ transplantation has been accompanied by long controversy, mainly linked to the capabilities, capabilities and ethics of the profession, as well as multiple problems, contrary to the message of medicine, which emphasizes the importance of dedication to save people's lives and safety.

He continued: «The UAE has authorized the transplantation and transplantation of organs and human tissues, in accordance with its Constitution, and in the light of Federal Law No. (15) of 1993 and Federal Law No. (5) issued in 2016. It also came to prevent trafficking in organs and tissues, protect the rights of persons, and regulation The donation process, and prevent the exploitation of the need of the patient or the donor ».

Al-Qatami added: «The State adopted executive regulations to regulate this type of operations, and formed a higher committee and other specialized subcommittees, to follow-up, development and supervision», and talked about the progress made by the Commission in this regard, pointing out that «the Commission has adopted the formation (the Commission on the transplantation and transplantation of human organs) In an important step to enhance the competitiveness of the Emirate of Dubai in the international health arena, not only this step. It is working - constantly - to modernize its medical facilities, and provide them with the best technologies and smart solutions, and provide them with a selection of competencies and minds of excellence in various disciplines ».

Dr. Amin Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and Licensing at the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, pointed out the qualitative and ethical addition achieved by the State in the field of transplantation and transplantation of human organs and tissues to meet the latest international health standards.

He explained that organ transplantation is a sustainable solution for a large number of patients, especially those with heart disease, pulmonary failure, cirrhosis and kidney failure.
