02 November 201921.42 To overcome the crisis in Chile, which has been underway for more than two weeks, a counter-proposal arrives to President Pinera's social agenda from the three opposition parties. Among the ideas announced: higher pensions, free transport for the elderly, fewer parliamentarians and a referendum for a new Constitution. The existing one was established during the Pinochet dictatorship in 1980 and reformed several times. The measures proposed so far are considered "insufficient" by the socialists, democrats and radicals.
