Bayern Munich, idling in the Bundesliga, made the minimum service Tuesday in Piraeus against Olympiakos, winning 3-2 thanks to a Lewandowski double and a goal from Tolisso.

But with 9 points in three games, the German club is quietly ahead of Group B, far ahead of Tottenham (4 points).

The champions of Germany have not been serene. The Greeks opened the scoring by Youssef El-Arabi (23), before Lewandowski hit twice (34th, 62nd) and Tolisso once (75th). Guilherme reduced the score (79th), allowing the Olympiakos to believe until the end.

Since their thundering 7-2 success in Tottenham, the Bavarians had fallen back into their mistakes in the Bundesliga, with a home defeat against Hoffenheim followed by a draw against the modest Augsburg. Nine points lost in eight championship days are up to neither the ambitions nor (especially) investments of leaders.

In Piraeus, they played their first game of the season without Niklas Süle, the strong central defense man seriously injured Saturday in the league (rupture of the cruciate ligaments of the left knee). Coach Niko Kovac had formed his hinge with world champions Benjamin Pavard / Lucas Hernandez.

- Without inspiration or rhythm -

In the first half, Bayern suffered the same hurts as in the league. Despite nearly 70% of possession, the "Rekordmeister" cruelly lacked inspiration, pace and especially aggressiveness in the duels.

Opposite, the players of the Olympiakos, well folded in front of their goal, fought on each balloon. And it is almost logically that El-Arabi opened the scoring for the Greeks. Manuel Neuer seemed to be pushing his powerful header in extremis, but the technology on the line confirmed that the ball had crossed the line (1-0, 23rd).

The champions of Germany, when they are out of collective, however have a plan B: Robert Lewandowski! The talent of the striker in series has once again made the difference.

At the 34th minute, he found himself in the right place to catch a ball pushed away by goalkeeper José Sa on a shot by Müller (1-1). Then after the break, he pushed from the tip of the foot, between a defender and the goalkeeper, a ball that trailed after a corner (2-1, 61st).

The Pole now has 18 goals in 13 games this season, in all competitions, and leads the league scorers with five goals.

- Serious incidents before the match -

Corentin Tolisso, who came in to replace injured Martinez, added a superb shot wrapped right from outside the box (3-1, 75th).

Bayern thought it was safe for four minutes, until Thiago cheated on his own goalkeeper by diverting a shot from Guilherme (3-2, 79). The end of the game was hot, but Munich held on and could have scored a fourth goal.

In the afternoon, there were serious incidents in the Youth League match between the U19s of both teams. Six Bayern fans were wounded - including two hospitalized - in a rush of helmeted and armed Greek hooligans who stormed the pitch in the 81st minute of the match to attack the squad of German fans.

The Greek club strongly condemned this aggression, claiming that the attackers had "by their place in the family of Olympiakos".
