“The parties were able to clarify each other their positions on a number of issues, we hope this could lay the foundation for continuing the dialogue. The situation included many difficult issues, on which the positions of the parties often diverge greatly. It was impossible to expect that all of them will be resolved in the course of a single meeting, ”Linde quotes RIA Novosti.

Earlier on special missions, the DPRK Foreign Ministry, Kim Myung-Gil, announced the failure of the working talks with the United States that took place in Sweden.

In turn, the State Department reported that the DPRK statements about negotiations with the US “do not reflect the content or spirit” of the discussion.

The agency’s statement noted that the United States proposed that the DPRK accept Sweden’s invitation to return to Stockholm “in order to meet again in two weeks and continue discussing all topics.”

Later, the North Korean Foreign Ministry announced that Pyongyang did not intend to continue the dialogue with Washington until the United States took "practical measures to completely and irreversibly abandon the hostile policy regarding the DPRK."
