A woman of about 60 years of age, died Tuesday after falling about 100 meters, in circumstances that are unknown, when making the route of Cares, in Cabrales.

The mortal remains of the deceased were located by the Fire Rescue Group of the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias (SEPA), aboard the medical helicopter of SEPA, in the area of ​​Los Colladinos. The affected fell below the old road from Cares to the river. The Civil Guard has taken over the procedures to proceed with the removal of the body.

To access the place where the woman was and confirm the doctor-rescuer his death, the team had to perform two crane cycles in which 40 meters of cable were deployed, as reported by SEPA.

The Emergency Coordination Center of 112 Asturias received the notice at 2:38 pm on Tuesday. In the call they indicated that it was a group that was on the route of Cares and that a woman had fallen down a slope of at least thirty meters of unevenness in the vertical with the river. SEPA Room 112 activated the Rescue Group with the medical helicopter and passed the notice to the SAMU. In addition, the Gijón Civil Guard Service Operations Center and 112 of Cantabria and Castilla y León were informed. At 15.55 the Rescue Group reported that they had located the woman and that she was deceased.
