A document published on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts indicates that educational programs are outdated in a number of professions and specialties. Including “technical operation of industrial equipment”, “optician-mechanic”, “machine tool”, “master of finishing construction work” and others.

At the same time, the press service of the ministry noted that the draft document does not mean an exception to the training of specialists in specific professions. The Ministry of Education explained that "just the current standards no longer meet the demands of the market."

It is indicated that earlier the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Education approved the training programs “Top 50 promising professions and specialties”, in which “modern skills and competencies” are provided in a “more relevant format”.

Earlier, the Minister of Education of Russia Olga Vasilyeva said that from the list of secondary vocational education from September 1, 2020 it is planned to exclude almost 100 obsolete positions.
