The crowd slowly grew, leaving with almost an hour late. An hour of gathering motionless, very calm without being in the meditation. Once on the march, some demonstrators chanted slogans, including against the Minister of the Interior, Christophe Castaner. It is against the police violence that the demonstrators are also mobilized.

Those present denounced deficiencies in the rule of law and did not understand that a police intervention was triggered for a few minutes of additional music the evening of Steve's disappearance.

Many also denounce the violence that regularly enamels demonstrations here in Nantes, violence that protesters blame the provocations of the police. Among the slogans, we also heard some "Break up! ". The CRS are present everywhere in the city center of Nantes today.

At the arrival of the procession before the prefecture, the police used the water lances and the first shots of tear gas canisters were heard.

Steve Maia Caniço disappeared in the night of June 21 to 22, during the Fête de la musique, while attending a concert techno music along the Loire. During that night, several people fell in the river during the intervention of the police. Participants said they were blinded by tear gas. The controversy over the attitude of the police on the evening of the Music Festival remains very lively.
