Dubai Municipality reported that it received only one report during the first half of this year regarding the poor use of pesticides in the Emirate, noting that it implements awareness programs on the safe use of pesticides.

The Director of Public Health Services at the Municipality, Zuhair Al-Sabbagh, told Emirates Al-Youm that the Department received only one communication during the first half of this year and was responded to, and during the field visit to the municipality team the use of a pesticide not registered in the State, Unauthorized person (spraying agent), and took necessary action in coordination with Dubai Police.

Al-Sabbagh confirmed the existence of a specialized team in the Dubai Municipality called the "Chemical poisoning team", which monitors pesticide trading in the emirate.

She pointed out that the law prohibits the importation, circulation or use of any pesticide, unless registered with the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment, and prevents the use of pesticides without obtaining a license from the competent authority.

The municipality provides a set of guidelines for dealing with pesticides, through awareness programs, health education, through visits to housewives, lectures in schools, shopping malls, shops, local departments, government and private bodies and institutions. 5000 folded in several languages, in the field of control of public health pests and the safe use of pesticides.
