Algeria welcomed this Saturday, July 20, heroes who arrived in the afternoon at Algiers airport. Algeria was crowned African champion after winning the CAN 2019 final against Senegal (1-0). This success against Senegal is synonymous with second star for the Fennecs, 29 years after the first triumph, at home, at the time under the aegis of Captain Rabah Madjer. The party will continue throughout the day.

The players arrived at Algiers airport where a delegation led by Prime Minister Noureddine Bedoui was waiting for them, as well as many supporters.

For the anecdote, they knew exactly where they were using a smartphone air traffic application. They followed their flight since taking off from Cairo on Saturday morning. A supporter explained that he had finally lost track of the plane, somewhere above Tizi Ouzou in Kabylie, 80 km east of Algiers. For him, this meant that the aircraft had dropped below 7,000 meters and was therefore no longer detectable by the radar coverage of its application.

Then, a new walkabout aboard their bus to the Place du 1er-Mai where thousands of people are gathered.

Direction finally towards the stage of 5-July which can welcome up to 80 000 spectators, for a communion with the Algerians. The party will continue tonight again.
