Erik Tegnér, a member of the Republicans and organizer of this dinner, was back on the event, while the initiative made noise on the side of his party.

INTERVIEW

The former National Rally MP Marion Maréchal met Tuesday with about fifteen elected Republicans, including parliamentarians. The one who advocates for a "union of the rights" has expressed itself several times since the debacle of LR in the European elections. Erik Tegnér, member of the Republicans and organizer of this dinner, returned to Europe 1 on this meeting which makes a lot of talk. "When we read or listen to what she says, there is no difference between Laurent Wauquiez, Bruno Retailleau or Marion Maréchal", he considered at the microphone of Matthieu Belliard. For him, it was so "quite logical that we can dialogue."

"A personality who has acceptable ideas and close to ours"

"What is scandalous - and I, it surprises me - is that we are surprised that elected officials LR meet a personality who has acceptable ideas and close to ours," says Erik Tegnér. Among the guests at the dinner included Senator of the Val-d'Oise Sébastien Meurant, the deputy of Ain and member of the political bureau of LR Xavier Breton and the former candidate LR in the European elections Sébastien Pilard. "We have seen real convergence between Marion Maréchal and the various elected representatives present," says Erik Tegnér.

"Gérard Larcher is turning LR into a satellite of the Republic on the move"

"This dialogue is a click. There is a before and there will be a after," warns the LR member. According to him, since the defeat in the European elections, the center of the party tries a takeover bid. "Today, Gerard Larcher is turning LR into a satellite of the Republic on the move," laments Eric Tegnér. He denounces "a disconnect" between the higher spheres and the base of the militants, adding in particular to feel closer to Marion Marshal than Guillaume Peltier, MP LR. "Marion Maréchal is not extreme right," says Erik Tegnér. The former elected Vaucluse, who still has his card at the RN, has withdrawn from the political scene in 2017 to found a school of political science in Lyon.
