British cyclist Chris Froome quietly left on Thursday, the University Hospital of Saint-Etienne, where he was admitted June 12 after a serious accident that deprives him this year of Tour de France, it was learned from hospital sources.

The quadruple winner of the Great Loop has eclipsed the afternoon of service at the hospital where he had been staying since he left intensive care last Saturday.

Chris Froome has been transferred to a rehabilitation center adapted to high level athletes, "where he will be followed for several months in a close manner" by Professor Rémi Philippot, told AFP the latter, who leads the team orthopedic surgeons who operated the champion.

CHU Saint-Etienne refused to indicate more precisely the destination of the British cyclist, at the request of the latter.

Trapped on June 12 by a gust of wind while he was in reconnaissance before a time trial trial of the Dauphine Criterium, the 34-year-old rider was operated on multiple fractures, right femur and right elbow as well only at the ribs.
