Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad called politically motivated the latest findings of the Joint Investigation Team (SSG) to investigate the crash of flight MH17 in the skies over Donbas. According to him, the commission was initially aimed at accusing Russia, so the politician demanded to present real evidence in the case of the crash of Boeing.

“We are very unhappy, because from the very beginning it was a political matter with the aim of accusing Russia of crimes. So far, there is no evidence. Only rumors, ”Mohamad said.

He stressed that the Malaysian party to the SSG is not convinced of the conclusions of the investigative group, which the day before had charged three Russians, Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinsky and Oleg Pulatov, and the Ukrainian Leonid Kharchenko with involvement in the crash. At the same time, representatives of the SSG announced their intention to establish the entire chain of perpetrators - up to the one who gave the order to transfer the “Buk” to the Donbass and the team to shoot down the Boeing 777.

“I think that a politician will not be so stupid as to act like that. I don’t think it’s true at all, ”Bloomberg quoted the words of the Malaysian Prime Minister.

At the same time, he rejected the assumption of one of the journalists that this position of Malaysia allegedly may be related to the fact that Russia is a major buyer of palm oil.

“Malaysia has consistently advocated that the conclusion on this case should have an evidence base, and not be politically motivated. In this regard, we call on all parties to cooperate in order to establish the true causes of what happened, ”TASS quotes the statement of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry.

It is worth noting that the Prime Minister of Malaysia is not the first time to criticize the way the SSG is investigated. In particular, he expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that for “some reasons” Malaysia was not given access to black boxes: “It seems that the main goal was not to find out how everything happened, but to hang this crime on the Russians. This is by no means a neutral examination. ”

We add that during a press approach following a direct line with Vladimir Putin, one of the journalists asked the president a question regarding the tragedy MH17. Responding to him, the head of state stressed that Russia has never shied away from responsibility, if such lies on its shoulders. However, in the case of the SSG activities, Moscow categorically does not like what the investigators presented as an “evidence base”.

“We believe that there is no evidence there, and everything that was presented does not mean anything. We have our own version, we presented it, but, unfortunately, no one wants to listen to us. And until there is a real dialogue, we will not find the right answer to the questions that are still open, ”Putin said.

“There are a lot of questions, but they are not answered. They just assigned the guilty - that's all. We are not satisfied with this approach to the investigation, ”the president added.

"Investigation is ridiculous."

Commenting on the progress of the SSG investigation, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev also pointed out that the perpetrators were “appointed” immediately after the MH17 crash. After that, all the activities of the international investigation team came down to confirming the first voiced assumption.

“We do not see any evidence that confirms what they said. And in general, the investigation was conducted, in my opinion, ridiculous, ”said Patrushev.

He stressed that the Russian side provides the SSG with objective data and technical information, which for some reason is not taken into account during the investigation: “They don’t even want to read them”.

“I think that in time we will get a real result: who did it, with what interests and why,” the Security Council secretary added.

According to military expert Alexei Leonkov, the Russian Defense Ministry at the time declassified and published information about the missile that shot down Boeing, including evidence that the missile was in service with the Ukrainian air defense.

In addition, the Buk cannot shoot autonomously, without an additional target detection station, and the used missile was old-fashioned - all such ammunition in Russia was disposed of, since they were not suitable for use on the upgraded Buk-M2 air defense system. For some reason, this fact is not taken into account by the Netherlands, but the same information was provided to the Malaysian authorities.

“When the Prime Minister of Malaysia got acquainted with everything he wanted to see, he saw that there was no need for us to shoot down an airplane. This is all confirmed, he may have been shown even more than he was shown to the press, ”the source said.

In turn, political scientist Sergei Sudakov, corresponding member of the Academy of Military Sciences, noted that the “evidence base” presented by the SSG fits into the “new justice system” built on the collective West, based on no priority of law, but only the right of the strong, appointing the perpetrators.

“Today’s engagement leads to the fact that the world, which initially plays by false rules, drives itself into a dead end, including that world, which is called the“ big collective West ”... Our modern world is similar to the classic psychological test conducted by the USA . They show a white sheet and say: “What color is it? Try to say that it is white and we will punish you, ”the expert conducted the analogy.

At the same time, he expressed the opinion that in the future the collective West will gradually lose its position, and the United States will eventually find it increasingly difficult to influence this “large collective West”.
