“Poroshenko is inventing reasons to become attractive for a certain part of voters. Zelensky did not give reasons for such statements. It’s not about exchanging one problem for another, ”said Dudchak.
According to him, Poroshenko makes such statements as part of an election campaign in which he is trying to keep his electorate.
“Voters would like to see a policy change, they voted for a policy change. Poroshenko has his own voters, and he is trying to gain a foothold in this field, ”the expert added.
Earlier, the former president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, has allowed the refusal of new Kiev authorities from claims to the Crimea. According to the politician, the Ukrainian leadership can recognize the Russian peninsula in exchange for resolving the conflict in the Donbas.
Crimea became the Russian region after the referendum held there in March 2014, in which the majority of the inhabitants of the peninsula spoke in favor of reunification with Russia.
