Three unions of France Televisions have tabled this Thursday a strike notice for June 13 to request the withdrawal of a transfer project on Franceinfo "Evening 3", iconic newscast of France 3.

The CGT, FO and the CFDT call the employees of the public group to a work stoppage of 24 hours, to obtain the withdrawal of the proposed transfer, according to a statement. A call that could disrupt a great special evening for the 70th anniversary of the first newscast, scheduled that day on France 2.

According to these trade unions, as well as the SNJ, a transfer of "Soir 3" on channel 27 would be equivalent to a deletion of this emblematic newspaper, given the very weak audience of franceinfo at the end of the day.

In May, the group's management presented the unions with a plan to create a new, reinforced slice of information, from 9 pm to midnight, on the franceinfo channel, launched in 2016 on DTT.

It is in this context that the management of the group plans to stop the broadcast of "Evening 3" in September. Instead of this JT which was broadcast at various times, the group wants to propose, with the new evenings of Franceinfo, a 30-minute newspaper (like "Soir 3"), at 23:00, made by the current teams of "Soir" 3 "and the writing of franceinfo.

But this project is strongly fought internally and also sparked protests outside France Télévisions.

Several petitions have also been launched, of which one has exceeded 5,000 signatures. Local politicians and national political leaders, including Benoît Hamon, the Radical Left Party or François Ruffin, also mobilized for the maintenance of the newspaper.

Launched in September 1978, "Soir 3" is presented since 2016 by Francis Letellier on weekdays and Sandrine Aramon on weekends.

A first call to the 48H strike, in full European elections, had already been launched to defend the newspaper by three other unions (SNJ, CGC and UNSA). The electoral evenings of France 2, France 3 and franceinfo could nevertheless be assured, despite disturbances.
