Calls for resignation are increasing, Theresa May is increasingly challenged. The British prime minister has had to postpone the vote on her "last chance" bill on Brexit. The text was the subject of a flood of criticism from both the Labor opposition and Eurosceptics from its own conservative party, leading to the resignation on Wednesday night of the Minister for Relations with Parliament, Andrea Leadsom. This new crisis brings Theresa May closer to the exit.

When she takes the reins of government in place of David Cameron, 20 days after the referendum to leave the European Union, Theresa May finds herself in an uncomfortable position. She, who has been campaigning for EU membership, must become an activist for a radical divorce from the European Union under pressure from the most Eurosceptic wing of her party.

Theresa May is trying to make the UK no longer dependent on European trade policy while maintaining privileged access to the single market.

Impossible, say the Europeans who eventually get tired of procrastination and affix the nickname Theresa "May be" - "maybe."

To have a better hand in its negotiations, it convenes early parliamentary elections . But the Conservatives lose their absolute majority and find themselves dependent on the 10 elected DUP, the North Irish unionist party.

The agreement it negotiated with Brussels is rejected by MEPs three times . Each time, the Prime Minister cash but does not give in.

Obscured by the cohesion of her party, which is very divided between the supporters of a hard Brexit, those who fight for a customs union and those who still hope to stay in the EU, Theresa May ends up alienating a large number of her supporters . She has already seen about thirty members of her government.
