In the Netherlands, on May 23, we vote for the Europeans. All eyes are on Forum for Democracy, a new nationalist, europhobe, pro-Nexit and anti-immigration party. At the regional elections last March, he became the country's leading political force. And according to several recent polls, he would now be neck and neck with the liberal right of Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

From our correspondent in the Netherlands , Antoine Mouteau

The polling station of the Gevers Deynootweg shopping arcade, on the seawall at The Hague, is surprising: playing tracks, pins and balls in the background, Wim, manager of the bowling, came to bring a coffee to assessors: " We ourselves proposed to the city to host a polling station here, it allows us at the same time to do some advertising for our bowling .

Here, in the Netherlands, for lack of public buildings and to make the vote more fluid, the latter sometimes takes place in slightly crazy places: halls of big railway stations, hotels or even bookshops. Amanch, 25, is one of the assessors of the bowling polling station: " For us, in the Netherlands, the place where we vote does not matter much ".

Anneke and her husband Rob, 80, a couple for 60 years have just cast their vote in the ballot box:
- " This year is really difficult. Voting for national elections is fine, but for the Europeans ... It's not the same "
- " I have a double feeling. On the one hand, I am afraid that one day, we will end up leaving the European Union. But at the same time, I tell myself that I still have to vote according to how I feel "

What Anneke is referring to is the strong progress in recent months of Forum for Democracy , a new nationalist party and Europhobe. Now everyone is wondering in the Netherlands whether or not it will be the first party Thursday night.
