"Nearly half of the budget for investment and operating aid to hospitals is dedicated to hospitals in overseas departments, said Wednesday the Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, the National Assembly.

"You can not sue us for underinvestment 30 years ago in these hospitals," replied Agnès Buzyn, while acknowledging that the member's statement was "not wrong".
She recalled that the government had planned to "completely rebuild the University Hospital of Guadeloupe" which burned in November 2017, that a support "case by case" was set up for the operation of ultramarine hospitals, and that it had "created 200 specialist assistant positions for hospitals in overseas departments to recruit specialized human resources".
"Know that the state is completely vigilant that the health indicators in the Dom join those of the city," she insisted.
