Pro-Palestine demonstrators interrupted US President Joe Biden's speech in North Carolina as part of his election campaign, demanding the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.

While Biden was speaking about the importance of health care, one of the demonstrators shouted, “What about health care in Gaza?” Biden responded by saying: “Everyone deserves health care.”

The demonstrators pointed out that hospitals in Gaza were being bombed, and chanted slogans such as “You are complicit in the crime of genocide” and demanded an immediate ceasefire.

After stopping speaking for a while after that, Biden said: “They are right, we have to provide more health assistance to Gaza.”

During its devastating war, Israel targets hospitals and health facilities in the Gaza Strip, causing most of them to be out of service.

A few days ago, nearly 70 former US officials, diplomats and military personnel urged President Biden to warn Israel of dire consequences if it deprives Palestinians of civil rights and basic needs.

The US President is facing domestic anger because of his support for the Israeli war on Gaza.

The ongoing Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has left tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of children and the elderly. Health care has also largely collapsed, and many people are living in tents or on the streets, and the deterioration is increasing. The situation is hopeless in the densely populated sector.

Israel prevents ground aid from entering the Gaza Strip, despite repeated calls and international appeals to allow humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip.
