The Al-Ahram Foundation banned the publication of a number on Wednesday by the Al-Ahali newspaper for the mouthpiece of the left-wing Tagammu Party, the oldest opposition political party, because of a news report on the company's Eagle Capital Investments.

The investigation, in which the newspaper was banned, said the company's president committed serious irregularities, exploiting her husband's influence to pressure banks to prevent the seizure of a city company of LE450 million (about $ 25 million).

The company was headed by former Minister of Investment Dalia Khorshid, wife of Central Bank President Tariq Amer.

Founded in 2016, Eagle Capital is an unrestricted Egyptian stock exchange and is targeting major companies in various fields. One of the company's subsidiaries is the Egyptian Media Network, which owns a number of satellite channels, radio stations, newspapers and websites.

The newspaper is owned by Al-Youm Al-Youm, the newspaper Sawt Al-Umma, Eye magazine, English Today magazine, Business Today magazine, Presence Sport Agency, Misr Cinema Company, Synergy Productions and Advertising, Eye Fly, Public Relations BV and Hashtag.
