Lebanon expressed condolences in connection with the wreck of the IL-20 in Syria

"The Lebanese Foreign Ministry condemns Israeli air strikes against Syria. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its deepest condolences to the people and leadership of Russia in connection with the death of 15 servicemen in Syria, "the text reads.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian leader Bashar Assad did not discuss the incident with the IL-20, which crashed off the coast of the UAR.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the incident with the plane occurred because the air force pilots of Israel covered themselves with the IL-20, substituting it for the fire of Syrian air defense weapons.
