Answering the moderator’s question whether he is confident that the administration will force Russia to “pay a high price” for the support of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Abrams said that “there is no doubt about that.”
“Everyone knows that Russians are the main supporters of the regime in Cuba,” he stressed.
Earlier, Abrams reminded Russia of the possibility of imposing sanctions in connection with the situation in Venezuela.
As noted in the Russian Foreign Ministry, "attempts to scare the Russian side with sanctions for legitimate cooperation with Venezuela look ridiculous."
