Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido on Friday (April 19th) called for the country's " greatest march in history " on May 1, at a "popular assembly" in Caracas in front of his supporters, at the occasion of the anniversary of the proclamation of independence of Venezuela, April 19, 1810.

We are in full Holy Week in Venezuela, a week synonymous with holidays in normal times. Yet Bolivar Square in Chacao is packed to listen to Juan Guaido.

Hector Diaz, from across the city, says he can no longer afford to go on vacation: " The World Health Organization estimates that a person must earn two dollars a day to survive. Here we do not even touch $ 5 a month .

All here remain convinced that Juan Guaido is the best solution for things to change and await his instructions. They do not delay: the opponent announces a new event he hopes massive. " We call all the people of Venezuela on May 1 for the biggest march in the country's history! "

On Labor Day, a challenge to Chavists who claim the support of the workers. A support that they lost, according to Rafael Guevara who brandishes a large Venezuelan flag: " It will not be only a manifestation of the workers, but of all Venezuelans. To protest against this government which is a dictatorship. And if we have to go to Miraflores, we'll go! "

Miraflores, the presidential palace on which Juan Guaido had promised to walk during a big demonstration. Perhaps the May 1: the opponent has remained vague enough to suggest it.
