Four female students have invented a "smart radiation detector" to increase safety in nuclear power plants around the world.

Aisha Al Hammadi, Raim Al Hamli, Mitha Al Mazrouei and Al Mazrouei, students in the field of electronic engineering at the Higher Colleges of Technology, explained that the innovation is equipped with a sensor system that can detect any leakage of nuclear radiation, whether in the station or surrounding residential areas.

The students added to Emirates Today: "If the device detects leakage of any degree, directly sensors act on detecting the presence of any human beings or living things in place, the device to issue audio and visual alerts in the place inside and outside the station, as well as existing screens At the station to alert the presence of an emergency ».

The students were invited to participate in the International Defense Exhibition (IDEX 2019), and they were welcomed by the participating military delegations, in addition to their contacts with the relevant local authorities to adopt, support and develop the project, in order to benefit from it internationally.
