Spring is coming to the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie! For its third edition, the establishment hosts the Botanica festival, which aims to promote plants, fruits, vegetables and flowers through various activities. For two days, on March 25 and 26, botanists, florists, landscapers, nurserymen and producers are present to talk about their work, while a friendly and spring market is available to visitors on the forecourt, with a dozen producers and caterers from organic farming or short circuits.

It will also be an opportunity to stock up on plants for your balcony or garden with an exceptional sale at affordable prices, in the lobby of the City and on the outdoor market. There will be a jumble of plants for indoor and outdoor use, but also specialists with valuable advice to maintain them.

Flower tasting, quizzes and cuttings

Botanica also offers workshops for the most curious, eager to know everything about botany. The association La Soupape Sauvage will give the keys to recognize the different trees, while Hector - a trunk of 2.30 meters dug drawers where twelve workshops-games on the life of the tree, the forest and biodiversity are hidden - is waiting for you. Observe plants under the microscope with scientific mediators from the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie, taste flowers, or repot a carnivorous plant before taking it home.

Raphaël Florentin from the YouTube channel "Le Monde Végétal TV", for his part, will test your knowledge using quizzes, while Cueillette Urbaine will learn the art of sowing and cuttings. Finally, the making of a flower crown or a plant fresco will have no secrets for you! Enough to become experts in botany, and real plant artists. For those with a green thumb, novices and nature lovers, head to the Botanica Festival, as joyful as it is educational.
