Do you wake up with difficulty?

Here are important tips for waking up in the morning vigorously and energetically

A consultant health psychologist explained that the easily correctable error that causes tiredness after waking up is that when we are forced to wake up to the sound of an alarm, our brains are essentially in a state between not fully awake and not fully asleep.

This results in a feeling of dizziness and fatigue that can last from a few minutes to several hours (which is known as lethargic sleep).”

Dr. Sue Peacock, Consultant Health Psychologist, added, "Hitting the snooze button between each wake-up alarm can sharpen our fatigue levels," as reported by Russia Today.

"To help reduce the risk of grogginess in the morning, we advise against using the snooze button," she continued. "Avoid setting your alarm to snooze, and try getting out of bed as soon as you wake up.

Eventually, you will train yourself to get out of bed right away."

Dr. Peacock also recommends letting the "light in" in the morning, if possible.

"Dark, dark rooms invite sleep, but it's a problem if you struggle to get out of bed in the dark," she says.

"As soon as you wake up, turn on the lights or open the curtains to invite bright light into your room. This can help you feel more alert and awake."

Dr. Peacock offers 3 other helpful tips for feeling refreshed when you wake up in the morning.

One of her tips is to take a daily vitamin D supplement, which can help keep your energy levels up.

It may also be helpful to "stick to an exercise routine", which could include walking outside, which may "improve sleep quality".

By getting better sleep, you are more likely to wake up feeling refreshed.

Dr. Peacock's final piece of advice is to "reduce screen time before bed," because "the blue light from our phones and laptops can affect our sleep/wake cycle."

She added, "It's important to try to avoid using your devices for at least an hour before you go to bed. This will help you sleep better for longer and feel more refreshed in the morning."
