Around 1:00 am on the 16th, the fire department was notified that smoke was coming out of a one-story wooden house in Shimazaki 5-chome, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City.
Ten fire engines and other vehicles were put out to extinguish the fire, and the fire was extinguished after about an hour, but about 95 square meters of one house burned down.
According to the police, a woman was found dead from the burnt ruins in this fire, and a man was transported to the hospital in an unconscious state, but his death was confirmed so far.
