According to a report from the American Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) on September 10, local time, most of the Oregon state of the United States has been in extreme fire danger recently, and evacuations have been ordered in several areas. Due to the high fire risk, thousands of users’ power has been cut off.

The state's largest fire, the Sungai Fire, expanded to more than 41,000 acres overnight, according to reports.

Fire officials said Sept. 10 that lightning-fueled fires have burned more than 147,000 acres in eastern Oregon since Aug. 30 and are now 15 percent contained.

Additionally, to mitigate potential fire risks from damaged power lines, power outages have been implemented to customers in western Oregon.

The Oregon Department of Forestry Conservation is urging people to avoid any activity that could create sparks.
