Retired doctors, the Occitanie Regional Health Agency needs you

The summer will be tense, on the medical front.

To deal with the crisis in the sector, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Occitanie launched an appeal on Thursday to retired doctors, to ensure replacements this summer, from August 1, in the region, "for ensure the proper functioning of all our health services”.

“As before each period of tension, the ARS Occitanie is currently carrying out (…) a precise inventory of the periods of availability of the structures and liberal cabinets throughout the region, details the organization.

Faced with the current demographic tensions and the difficulties encountered by many general practitioners in finding replacements, the ARS Occitanie calls for the mobilization of voluntary retired doctors to come and strengthen the private practices from August 1, by ensuring replacements this summer everywhere in Occitania.

A “solidarity commitment (…) essential”, continue the services of the ARS, “to maintain access to care in each of our territories, and thus collectively meet the challenge of continuity of care throughout our region while throughout this summer period.

Voluntary retired doctors can
