Joan-Ramon Laporte has dedicated his life to studying medicines, their use and impact on society. He was head of the clinical pharmacology service at the Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona and professor of Therapeutics and Clinical Pharmacology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
