The Grammy Awards will honor Taylor Hawkins

The musical event of the year in the United States has planned a special tribute for Taylor Hawkins.

The Foo Fighters drummer's death sent shockwaves through the recording industry, so Grammy Awards production rushed to stage a memorial sequence for the star.

“We will honor his memory in one way or another.

We want to find the right thing to do that is respectful of everyone involved, ”said

Jack Sussman, the vice president of CBS (the American channel which broadcasts the ceremony) for special events.

Prior to their drummer's death, the Foo Fighters were scheduled to perform on stage at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.

But the group announced in a press release the cancellation of all its concerts, to allow the "Foo Fighters Family" to gather.

Nothing has been specified on the nature of the tribute and it is unclear whether Dave Grohl, who considered Taylor Hawkins to be his brother, and the rest of the group, will be there.

The Foo Fighers are in contention for three trophies.

The Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on April 4.
