March 21 to 23 is the traditional festival of the Central Asian country Kazakhstan - Naurus Festival.

After two years of celebrations were canceled due to the epidemic, this year’s offline celebrations will be celebrated.

On March 22, at the Independence Square in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, local people celebrated the arrival of the festival.

Naurus Festival is a national traditional festival in Central Asia and was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2009.

As the most grand traditional festival in the region, the arrival of Naurus Festival symbolizes the return of spring to the earth and the recovery of all things.

The people of many Central Asian countries hold high respect for this.

They believe that the arrival of the festival represents the beginning of the year and symbolizes people's yearning for a better future.

At the scene, not only wonderful singing and dancing performances were performed, but also many handicrafts and delicacies with various national traditional cultural characteristics were displayed.

It is worth mentioning that the steaming "Naurus Porridge" was also prepared for the people who came to participate in the celebration.

"Naurus porridge" is an indispensable food for local people during festivals, made from seven raw materials that symbolize life.

During the festival, every family will prepare Naurus porridge.

This kind of porridge is usually made from seven kinds of raw materials including water, salt, millet, barley rice, rice, yogurt and salty cheese.

The number seven is a sacred number for Kazakhs.
