In response to the state of emergency, preparations are underway for the reopening at the Fukuoka City Zoo, which had been temporarily closed for over a month.

The Fukuoka City Zoological Garden in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City has been temporarily closed since the 12th of last month in response to the declaration of emergency, but it is expected to resume operations from the 22nd of this month due to the prospect of cancellation of the declaration.

At the zoo, the zookeepers were preparing for the reopening by cleaning the rhino's bedroom and feeding the monkeys on the 17th.

During the temporary closure period, cats and chimpanzees who like to interact with people sometimes showed lonely gestures and facial expressions to the keeper.

Even after reopening at the zoo, we will encourage visitors to wear masks and diligently disinfect them.

Hiroaki Sato, the director of Fukuoka City Zoological Garden, said, "I felt like I missed cats and chimpanzees while the park was closed. I hope you will have a good time with your family." I did.
