Medog Tibetan means "secret lotus", located in the southeast of Tibet, downstream of the Yarlung Zangbo River.
Medog County is the last county in China with highways. It was once known as the plateau "island". The 117-kilometer Medog Highway from Zhamu Town, Bomi County, Nyingchi to Medog County was opened to traffic in October 2013.
The picture shows the highest point of the Medog Highway on May 16. The Bomi section of the Medog Highway in Nyingchi, Tibet, with an average altitude of more than 4,000 meters, is still snowy on both sides of the road in summer.
