The Narita Airport Company has decided to set up a window to support employment at the airport in order to prevent the outflow of human resources from affiliated companies amid the continued slump in aviation demand due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

This window will be opened at Narita Airport from January 12, next year, in cooperation with the Narita Airport Company, Chiba Labor Bureau and Chiba Prefecture.

At the counter, in addition to introducing the procedures for employment adjustment subsidies and the places where employees are seconded to companies, we also provide job information and introduce the living expenses loan system to individuals.

This is the first time in Japan that such an employment support window has been set up at the airport.

When the Narita Airport Company conducted a questionnaire survey of 650 companies related to Narita Airport, 209 companies responded, and nearly 70% of them answered that "surplus personnel may be generated" and 60%. The remainder answered, "There is a possibility that the business will be reduced or withdrawn."

Akihiko Tamura, president of Narita Airport Corporation, said at a press conference, "There are many small and medium-sized enterprises in the airport, and it is difficult to maintain employment individually, so I would like to work on the entire airport."
