In recent days, two hydroalcoholic gels have been the subject of a product recall from the Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and the Suppression of Fraud (DGCCRF), reports L'Union . The official press release explains that these products contain too little ethanol and isopropanol to ensure antibacterial and antiviral efficacy for consumers.

The first recall dates from June 25, it concerns hydroalcoholic gel "Clean and pure - El Temizleme Jeli". It is a 150 ml bottle and lot 10.03.2020. The second recall targets the “On Dermo” brand with its product “Hydrolalcohico water-free hygienizing hand gel”, whose container is 500 ml. Its lot bears the number: 0162020294.

Do not use and bring back

The DGCCRF asks consumers not to use these products and, in the case of the “On Dermo” product, to bring it back to the store in order to be reimbursed. Besides these two reminders in less than a week, other similar cases have also been identified in recent weeks.

In May, during the confinement period linked to Covid-19, the public authority had already pinned several bottles of the SYMEX brand. Its composition had been singled out for its ineffectiveness.
