[HIGHLIGHTS] Takara Shuzo voluntarily recalls approximately 100,000 bottles of sake, using Kobayashi Pharmaceutical's red yeast rice ingredient

Takara Shuzo, a major sake brewery headquartered in Kyoto, has announced that it will voluntarily recall approximately 100,000 bottles of sake that it sold for a limited time. The sake they are voluntarily recalling is the Shochiku Bai Shirakabegura Mio PREMIUM ROSE.

This sake uses red yeast rice produced by Kobayashi Pharmaceutical as a coloring agent. There are no confirmed health hazards associated with this sake, according to Takara Shozo.
