Osaka Gas Fair Trade Commission surveyed Review of contract conditions June 2 16:18

The Fair Trade Commission said that Osaka Gas would revise the terms of the contract when a large customer with multiple contracts canceled some of them and asked for a full refund of the discounted amount up to that point. I have finished the investigation that I was conducting on suspicion of violating the Antimonopoly Act.

According to the Fair Trade Commission, Osaka Gas offered a discount on gas charges when a large number of customers with factories made a contract for multiple business locations at once, but if you cancel even one location, the discount up to that point will be given. They were asking to return the full amount of money, or a large cancellation fee.

The Fair Trade Commission suspected that such acts would violate the Antimonopoly Act, which prohibits unfair transactions. In August, the Fair Trade Commission conducted an on-site inspection of the head office in Chuo-ku, Osaka.

On the other hand, Osaka Gas decided to review the contract conditions.

The Fair Trade Commission has decided to end the investigation, assuming that the suspicion of a violation will also be resolved.

Osaka Gas commented, "There are no problems with the contract details, and we believe that the examination was completed today as a result of responding to the investigation in good faith."
