Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association to carry out emergency inspection of legal compliance to improve industry transactions. Nissan Motor received a recommendation from the Japan Fair Trade Commission to prevent a recurrence on the grounds that it violated the Subcontract Act by unilaterally lowering the prices it paid to 36 subcontractor manufacturers.
Chairman Masanori Katayama stated, ``Price discussions must be carried out clearly and firmly, and using preferential status is the worst problem,'' and said that he is trying to prevent the recurrence.
