Preparations for reopening at the Tako Museum Shiga Higashiomi May 10 21:16

In Shiga Prefecture, requests for suspension of work at museums and libraries are scheduled to be lifted from the 11th, and preparations are being made to open the museum in Higashi-Omi City, known for making Odako.

The Higashiomi Kites Kaikan in Higashiomi City, which has been known for making Odako since the Edo period, has been closed since the 20th of last month to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection.

Since then, Shiga Prefecture has requested that various facilities be closed from the 23rd of last month, but it has decided to remove museums and libraries from tomorrow, and the Kite Kaikan will also open from tomorrow.

On the 10th, staff members carried out preparatory work, and at the souvenir shop near the entrance, a transparent sheet was installed to separate customers and staff members to prevent the spread of infection.

Also, on the exhibition board in front of the entrance, we stuck this miniature and original picture with a message of support such as "Let's do our best".

For the time being, Oita Kita Kaikan will not hold any large-scale planned exhibitions and will not have a regular octopus making experience corner this month.

Mr. Katsuhisa Torii of the Higashi-Omi Great Kite Kaikan said, "I may not be able to respond enough because the explanation of the exhibition is done while keeping a distance, but I would like to take proper measures and have a look."
