The Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that it has confirmed that 1121 people are newly infected with the new coronavirus in Tokyo, according to preliminary figures as of 3:00 pm on the 8th.
This is the highest number since the third state of emergency was declared on April 25th.
It has been over 1000 since May 1st.
