The Paramount + platform launched in France next December

Another newcomer to the video on demand (SVoD) market.

The American giant ViacomCBS has announced the launch in France of its SVoD platform, Paramount +, in December 2022, reveal our colleagues from Les

A year ago, this company had already launched an ad-supported streaming service dubbed Pluto TV.

In 2022, @paramountplus will expand to some of the world's biggest markets, with customized go-to-market plans for each region.

By the end of Q2, we'll launch in the UK, South Korea & the Caribbean.

By the end of the year, we'll add Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland & Austria.

Agreement with Canal+

“We have a distribution agreement with Canal+ but we want to integrate all French distributors to have the widest possible distribution,” explained Raffaele Annecchino, CEO of ViacomCBS Networks International to the economic daily.

Thanks to this agreement, Canal+ will be able to continue broadcasting Paramount films as well as certain series from the Showtime channel.

The French encrypted channel will be able to offer this content before Paramount + at first.

No extra cost with the Canal+ Ciné Séries offer

This SVoD service will be offered at launch at no additional cost to Canal+ subscribers benefiting from the Canal+ Ciné Séries offer.

This is offered at the price of 35 euros per month, or 20 euros for young people under 26 years old.
