Paramount Global and Skydance are in negotiations over a possible merger. The two companies co-produced the movie "Top Gun: Maverick," which generated $1.5 billion worldwide.

The number of subscribers to the Paramount platform reached about 63 million at the end of September. The Wall Street Journal reported that Paramount would refrain from negotiating with Apollo and other potential partners for 30 days to make way for an agreement withSkydance. The offer was worth $26 billion, according to the report.
