The government introduced a temporary ban on the export of buckwheat from Russia

"To establish from June 5 to August 31, 2021, inclusive, a temporary ban on the export from the Russian Federation ... buckwheat ... coarse buckwheat groats ... hulled buckwheat grain," the document says.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture came up with an initiative to temporarily restrict the export of buckwheat and buckwheat groats.

In the press service of the department, the aim of the proposal was called "the preservation of the necessary volumes of buckwheat and buckwheat groats in the domestic market and the prevention of sharp price fluctuations."
